Key Top Jobs 2007: Business-Programs.com Offers Best Careers Insight
(PRWeb) February 7, 2007-- To help students and employees determine how their educational options align with the US News & World Report Best Careers 2007 list, Business-Programs.com offers insight into four top jobs of 2007: fundraising, systems analysis, management consulting and politics (http://www.business-programs.com/). Occupational data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) supports that three of these four careers are prime for growth. Degree program options and a career and education articles can be found easily through online resources such as Business-Programs.com.
Among its 25 best careers for 2007, US News & World Report includes fundraiser ($78,902 median pay), systems analyst ($70,438), management consultant ($96, 245) and politician (median pay reported as "not applicable"). Comparatively, the U.S. real median household income is $46,326.
All four careers require a minimum of a bachelor's degree, says US News & World Report. Master's degrees are also recommended for management consultants and politicians. However, the BLS recommends that fundraisers looking to secure senior or executive positions consider a Master of Business Administration (MBA) or another advanced degree. Similarly, systems analysts who wish to advance to advance to a management position like chief information officer should consider "a graduate degree, especially an MBA with technology as a core component."
Business-Programs.com spokesperson Lee Adams emphasizes that further education can set candidates apart, "With the wide availability of many specialized graduate programs both online and through traditional campus programs, employees can make themselves much more competitive in top careers without a lot of inconvenience."
The BLS projects employment of computer systems analysts "to grow much faster than average through 2014," and employment of management analysts will also see faster than average growth. Likewise, advocacy, grantmaking, and civic organizations that usually require fundraisers will see an increased demand for services because of new and growing social services programs and other demographic shifts. Employment in state and local government is projected to increase 11 percent, which is slower than the 14-percent projected growth. Federal government is projected at 2.5 percent.
