Demeter's Pantry Recognized by the Greek Embassy for Work Promoting Greek Specialty Foods

Bridgewater, N.J. (PRWEB) February 27, 2008 -- Demeter's Pantry recognized by the Greek Embassy for work promoting Greek specialty foods.

The embassy praised Demeter's Pantry for promoting Greek cuisine in the United States and especially for its cooperation with Balducci's in the planning and marketing of Balducci's 2007 Greek Festival.

Demeter's Pantry Managing Partners, Maria Kardamaki Robertson and Esther Luongo Psarakis, attended a dinner at the Greek Embassy in DC to honor over fifty of Greece's Economic and Commercial Partners.

This invitation recognized the efforts of Demeter's Pantry in promoting authentic food products from Greece in the United States. In particular, the Embassy recognized Demeter's Pantry for its role in supporting the planning and marketing of the Greek food festival at Balducci's, a specialty food supermarket chain operating on the East Coast.

Maria Kardamaki Robertson observed, "It was a pleasure to work with our embassy to enable Balducci's to organize its Greek festival in October. With the Trade Office's support and resources and our own deep knowledge of high-quality, artisanal Greek specialty foods, we delivered to Balducci's an unusual and authentic Greek-themed promotion, richly flavored with the traditions of rural Greece."

Esther Luongo Psarakis remarked, "From talking with other retail chains, we know that there's a lot of suppressed demand for high quality Greek specialty food products. In 2008 Demeter's Pantry will continue working with retailers to plan Greek food festivals and other Greek-themed promotions to deliver authentic Greek specialty foods to the U.S. market."
